This is a highly original rendition of a seafaring ship hand painted on velvet cloth by the artist J.D.C.  The technique used in this requires the artist to overlay layer after layer of thick acrylic paint across the underlying velvet background.  This requires the artist to work very quickly, and often with paintings such as this one, no mistakes can be made as nothing can be corrected once it's been placed upon the velvet. This item has a slight tear along the left edge of the velvet, but the painting itself is in excellent condition, and remains in its original frame, ready to be displayed.
